MA'S CHERRY CORDIAL

Every season, I split a bag of fresh cherries with my mom. There ends my love affair with cherries. (I blame PTSD from the horrible cherry-flavored medications of my childhood.) My mom, however, loves cherry pie, cherries jubilee, chocolate-covered cherries, cherry pastries, so on and so forth. I created a cherry sherbet just for her. As such, this flavor is dedicated to her, my Ma. Pairs well with chocolate chips (or so I’ve been told–I don’t mix chocolate with fruit).

Ingredients: cherry, sugar, water, heavy cream (heavy cream, skim milk, carrageenan), lemon juice, kosher salt
